On 26th May 1971, in Houston, Texas, Gerald Whitney Stone and Sheila Lois welcomed their son Matthew Richard Stone into this world. Matt has a younger sister, and the siblings grew up in Littleton, Colorado, where they went to the Heritage high school. Matt graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder.

In 2008, Stone married Angela Howard, and they have two children. The couple has been together since 2001. Stone claims that he had grown up as an agnostic.
Career
In 1992, while he was still a student, Stone began his career. Jesus VS. Frosty is Stone’s first animated short film. Stone, McHugh, Parker, and Iak Hardin established Avenging Conscience, a production company. A musical movie named Cannibal! The Musical was produced by Stone in 1994. Next year, Stone wrote, directed, produced, and acted in the movie Jesus VS. Santa. South Park appeared in 1997 and became the highest-rated show on the television networks. Stone and Parker also wrote their movie Orgazmo.
