2020 Range Rover Evoque Wins the Best SUV at Women’s World COTY Awards

The recently launched 2024 Range Rover Evoque has been creating quite a buzz around its name due to it being a stark departure from the previous generation’s ideology and being more in line with the more mean and modern looking Range Rover Velar. The new baby Range Rover has gone through quite an extensive make-over as the previous generation of the Evoque was long due for an update and looking at how popular the Evoque is throughout the world, Jaguar Land Rover shouldn’t even have waited this long to give the world what it has been craving. The latest generation of the Evoque features a longer wheelbase that has been very helpful in opening up rear legroom in the vehicle resulting in the Evoque no longer feeling cramped for taller passengers in the rear. The Evoque also features quite an extensive exterior refresh with the newer generation resembling the ever so pretty Range Rover Velar by featuring a similar-looking front and rear design that comes bundled with the iconic flush door handles. The Evoque has been garnering praises left, right and center making it one of the most well-received modern Range Rover products in quite a while. How well received you ask?- Being able to win numerous awards well received! Well, you heard it right, Amongst these the most notable one would certainly be the recognition that was bestowed on the Baby Rover at the Dubai International Motor Show. The 2024 Range Rover Evoque was nominated amongst 21 other cars that had been collectively suggested by 41 judges from 32 countries which had ultimately resulted in the potential candidates being sorted into seven distinct categories. Out of these seven categories, the 2024 Range Rover Evoque was awarded the Best SUV/Crossover at the esteemed 2019 Women’s World Car of the Year Awards facilitated by Ms. Shereen Shabnam, which is a truly big win for the brand and its marketing team. The Evoque has always had a certain level of connecting with the fairer gender since women have always displayed a tad bit more affinity to the Evoque compared to the rest of the JLR Lineup even if we take into account the previous generation.

The fact that the new generation of the Evoque has been able to draw almost close to 224 awards at various public platforms really goes to show that the Evoque has tapped into a niche market that was quite unexplored earlier and has more or less dominated the entire segment by recognizing the demands of the clientele and then delivering strongly on them. The 2020 Range Rover Evoque is based on the brand’s new Premium Transverse Architecture which while being a very modern platform, not only has improved the handling characteristics but has also acted as a catalyst for greener powertrain options as the Evoque now offers a lineup of Three-cylinder and Hybrid engines in many of it’s targeted global markets. The 2024 Evoque has also been awarded a 5-star Euro NCAP rating which strengthens our belief in the product that has been able to garner so much buzz in so little time.

In all honesty, though, it isn’t actually just a big bed of roses when looking at the 2024 Range Rover Evoque as it does have some pretty apparent flaws that do hinder the otherwise fabulous user experience. Our biggest gripe with the newer Evoque is ironically the same thing that we could swear we would go crazy over before we experienced it due to how fabulous it looked- The infotainment screens. The Evoque features two pretty substantial touch screens that look extremely premium when viewed in light of the dashboard as the incorporation of the HVAC Control and mini displays inside the rotating bezels that do look extremely fancy at first glance, do turn out to be more than a little unpolished. We firmly believe that a brand like JLR should have actually not let such a thing slide as the infotainment screens do get very easily overwhelmed and undergo quite noticeable frame drops and stutters which sometimes even make them freeze making them completely useless until the car is switched off and started back up. The fact that the main attraction inside the Evoque could really turn out to be a let down is one of our biggest gripes with the modern Evoque since the mentioned infotainment screens are more or less the command center of the 2024 Evoque.

Another big problem with the infotainment unit of the Evoque seems to be people who are not yet used to such a touch-heavy structure. The setup dominates most of the interior and buyers will realize how interactive the infotainment is once they are able to look past its wariness. If we look past the stuttery and laggy infotainment experience on the Evoque, JLR must have done something right since people can’t stop loving this cute little SUV. The Evoque has been able to garner some very respectable media coverage for JLR and if JLR somehow sorts out the glitchy infotainment, the Evoque could very easily double its award count without even a hint of doubt. Until then, thankfully, the 16-way power-adjustable front seats will make sure that everyone stepping into the Evoque is as comfortable as possible, regardless of the body type.

The rear 40/20/40 split-folding seats further ensure that you don’t give the entire back seat in case there is a need of carrying longer items. Then again, the lack of heated seats, adaptive suspension and even as much as a sunroof make you question Evoque’s intent. Turns out this JLR SUV is inclined only to give you the best off-roading experience while delivering practicality only when needed. In all, the new Land Rover Range Rover justifies what it stands for. It is every bit as modern and well-prepared for taming the wild. In case, wandering off into the wild isn’t your everyday cup of tea, still the new Evoque rewards drivers with a phenomenal driving experience and remarkable versatility. So, whether on the road or off it, there’s hardly going wrong with the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque. It appears, all the hype this JLR SUV has created for itself is not for nothing.
